Respite Care...

 

Clearfield/Jefferson Mobile Crisis Respite

Pentz Run Youth Services’ accepts male and female youth who have been evaluated by a Mobile Crisis worker and either meet criteria for hospitalization but there is no bed available or do not meet criteria for hospitalization but need a respite from the home environment.  We accept adolescents ages 10 through 17 (see General Admission for adolescents under the age of 12).  At present Pentz Run Youth Services is licensed for eighteen (18) beds, Emergency Placement may not exceed ten (10).

Referrals are accepted from Clearfield/Jefferson Mobile Crisis, Clearfield/Jefferson MHMR and other county mental health workers.  Referrals are received on a 24-hour basis and are generally initiated through phone contact from the referring agency.  Admission may occur immediately.

Admission is determined on an individual basis, without regard to race, color, creed, sex or national origin.

Youth who are placed through this method must be accompanied by their parent/guardian at the time of placement.  Respite stays are generally 3 days culminating with a family session and recommendations at discharge.

 

Family Based Respite

Pentz Run Youth Services’ accepts male and female youth who require short term alternatives to their current living situations.  We accept adolescents ages 10 through 17 (see General Admission for adolescents under the age of 12).  At present Pentz Run Youth Services is licensed for eighteen (18) beds, Emergency Placement may not exceed ten (10).

Referrals are accepted from Family Based Mental Health Agencies.   Referrals are received on a 24-hour basis and are generally initiated through phone contact from the referring agency.  Admission may occur immediately.

Admission is determined on an individual basis, without regard to race, color, creed, sex or national origin.

Length of stay is determined by the Family Based team, generally, 3-5 days.  The Family based team continues to work with the youth and family in an effort to return the child to the home.
